Valedictorian

The Campus Valedictorian of the graduating class is the student with the highest CGPA. She/he represents the graduating class by delivering a 3 to 5-minute speech during the Commencement Exercises.

Degree Awards

Upon graduation, degrees are awarded with:

• Honors: Cumulative GPA in the range of 3.20 - 3.49
• Distinction: Cumulative GPA in the range of 3.50 - 3.79
• High Distinction: Cumulative GPA in the range of 3.80 - 4.00

Awards

Every year, awards are distributed to exceptional graduating students. Recipients of each award receive a certificate and a monetary compensation.

• The President’s Award is given to a graduating student with High Distinction from each school (except medicine) who demonstrates strong leadership traits through extracurricular activities on and off campus.
• The Charbel Khairallah Endowed Award of Excellence in Engineering is yearly granted to a top engineering student in Byblos campus in memory of late engineering student Charbel Khairallah. 
• The Rhoda Orme Award is granted to one female graduating student per campus who shows dedication and service to others. 
• The Riyad Nassar Leadership Award is granted to one graduating student per campus, who spent at least one academic year at LAU, based on good academic standing (CGPA of 3.0 and above) and exemplary leadership skills. 
• The Sara Khatib Inspiration Award is granted in memory of late pharmacy student Sara Khatib to an LAU student who sustains a positive attitude and has made an impact on others by being a role model of courage, determination, endurance, and hope in the face of obstacles, while maintaining high academic standards.
• The Torch Award is given to a graduating student from each school (except medicine) who shows high leadership and service spirit, through volunteer work, sense of commitment and dedication, and ethical attitude.
• The General Mahmoud Tay-Abou-Dargham Award is granted to an LAU Lebanese graduating student, with an outstanding grade point average (CGPA of 3.0 and above), while excelling in sports and demonstrating leadership skill.
